. haywood, union city, about to move into san ramone. solano scattered rain to report for this part of the bay area. bulk of the activity in the southern third of the bay area. you can see development out to the west. the yellows and reds, indicating the increase in the rainfall rates san jose to sunnyvale. out toward campbell, blossoo m hill road. increase in the rainfall and the possibility of hail with some thunderstorms. keep that in mind at least in the short term. as far as temperatures, its cool. mainly in the 40s to around 50. santa rosa in 40. haywood 48 and san jose around 46 degrees. forecast for today, cool showers this morning, we will hold on to the chance of showers right on in to the afternoon with temperatures only maxing out in the low to mid50s. yesterday's storm, that cold front, today we have the speckled clouds off shore. that's a signature of cold unstable air and that will sweep in to the area for today. we will hold onto the sun, passing clouds and heavier downpours. here is the forecast model, 10:00 showing you scattered rain showers, it's doing a good job

city grand jury, dion ware remains in central booking. it was november 26 when baltimore city police arrived at this apartment building on the 300 block of east 27th street. he was asking someone passing miti used his cell phone to call 911. we're told he checked on his son and noticed the infant was making a strange noise like he was having trouble breathing. we're told police picked up his son and tried to assess -- resuscitate him. he realized he was pushing too hard while doing cpr. he admitted holding his son and claimed as he tried to put the child into the playpen, he fell out of his arms and fell to the hardwood floor, striking his face. he picked of his son and wiped his face and put him in the playpen. he noticed that troubles having trouble breathing. he observed his son was not breathing. he attempted to perform cpr but could not revive him. autopsy results say the infant had multiple fractured revs, other injuries, and bruises. the death was ruled a homicide. the medical examiner determined the injuries were not consistent with a child simply being dropped to the floor.

cities in the united states, and i think should be spread even further. and it often goes under the popular term hotspots policing. policing has been shown to reduce what you referred to earlier as average gun violence if any gun violence could be said to be average. that is to say enhancing police patrols in those neighborhoods or even smaller areas of the city where gun violence is highly concentrated, typically during the night and evening hours, that's been shown to reduce firearm violence and incidentally without spreading it to adjoining areas. the research literature is very clear on that, my own city of st. louis recently implemented such a program and experienced very substantial declines in gun violence where the program was implemented. so policy number one for reducing our largest gun violence problem, which is the problem of typically two young men in a dispute. one or both of whom are arms, one kills or severely injures the other. we do know how to reduce that problem. we're not going to eliminate it, but it's important to keep in mind that over the last two decade
